About
Public Art
I have completed dozens of public art projects
in the last decade and a half or so. I love to involve the community
in the design and creation of my public works, especially children.
I want the community to see themselves reflected in the art I create
for their neighborhood and inspire a sense of pride and ownership.
My art is often humorous, and always colorful and reflective of multiculturalism.
Many of my projects have included collaboration
with architects and contractors, landscape architects, facility staff
members and community groups. In particular, my work for the 77th
Street Police Headquarters and the Rosa Parks Metro Rail Station
in South Central Los Angeles involved blending my work with newly
designed as well as pre-existing architecture.
